As expected, Woodbridge and El Dorado have been named as No. 1-seeded teams in the Southern Section pairings released Monday. Woodbridge (20-1-2), which has been the county’s top-ranked team all season, is the top-seeded team in Division II and sixth-ranked El Dorado (22-2-1) is seeded first in Division III.

In the first round, on Saturday, Woodbridge will host the winner of Wednesday’s wild-card game between Los Amigos (14-2-5) and Loara (12-7). If the Warriors win, they could face cross-town rival University (13-6-4), which handed Woodbridge its only loss, in the second round. First, University must defeat the winner of a wild-card game between Edison (13-7-2) and Anaheim (5-8-6). Fifth-ranked Huntington Beach, which has been the county’s hottest team, hosts Whittier La Serna (5-9-3) in the first round.

In Division III, three of the top four-seeded teams are from the county: No. 1 El Dorado, No. 2 Trabuco Hills and No. 4 Brea Olinda. Santa Margarita (14-7-4), Division III’s two-time defending champion, will host Sonora (8-5-6) in the first round.

In Division I, no county teams were seeded. Santa Ana (15-4-4), which won the Golden West League, is ranked second in the county and was given a surprisingly tough draw. The Saints could face South Coast League champion Dana Hills (11-7-8) in the second round and second-seeded Long Beach Poly in the third round.

In Division IV, fourth-ranked Servite (20-5-3) is seeded second and will play Estancia (10-6-5), an at-large team from the Pacific Coast League. Laguna Beach (10-9-2), which has won two consecutive Division V titles, has moved up to Division IV. The Artists open against West Covina South Hills (12-2-4) Saturday.

The finals will be March 6 at Cerritos Gahr, Cerritos and La Mirada high schools.
