Loara 68, Riverside Poly 54--Herbert Gracia scored 21 points and Daniel Melton added 18 for host Loara (24-4), which won its first playoff game since 1966. The Saxons advance to play Ventura.
Mater Dei 68, Los Angeles Loyola 43--Mike Strawberry scored 15 points and Ricky Porter added 14 for host Mater Dei (27-3), which advanced to play Villa Park. Imran Sufi had seven assists and seven rebounds for the Monarchs.
Ryan Mollins had 25 points for Loyola.
Villa Park 49, Palm Springs 43--Matt MacGinnis had 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for host Villa Park (19-10).
Katella 81, Alhambra Mark Keppel 58--Senior Don Carey scored a career-high 32 points and Matt Tisthammer had 19 for host Katella (21-6), which advanced to play La Puente Nogales.
Troy 64, Claremont 49--Jerry Inzunza had 25 points and Mark Ahlberg had 14 points and 12 rebounds for host Troy (17-10), which will face Simi Valley next.
Claremont finished at 19-8.
Glendora 78, Mission Viejo 41--Stanford-bound guard Casey Jacobsen scored 34 points for host Glendora (27-1), the top-seeded team.
University 68, La Mirada 58--Chet Johnson scored 26 points and was 14 of 18 from the line to lead University (17-9). The Trojans trailed in the second half, 43-36, before scoring 12 consecutive points to take the lead for good.
University advanced to play Moreno Valley.
