In other Division I games:
Capistrano Valley 9, Foothill 7--Foothill was unable to stop the Stachowski sisters, as senior Ashley scored five goals and sophomore Amber scored two. Sam Shepherd scored Capistrano Valley’s other two goals and teammate Xena Gleason had 12 saves. Teresa Corbett had three goals for Foothill, which ends up 15-10. Capistrano Valley is 21-7.
Newport Harbor 9, San Clemente 3--Kyndra Cox scored a seven goals for Newport Harbor (21-6), which took a 5-0 lead at the half. Jocelyn Manderino had one goal, three assists and a steal for the Sailors, who play Villa Park at Corona del Mar next.
Villa Park 10, Marina 5--Marina led, 2-1, after the first quarter, but Kristyn Pulver scored two goals in the second quarter and Villa Park (25-1) never trailed after that. Pulver had five goals and two assists, Shannon Buckner had four goals, and Breanne Parker made nine saves for the Spartans.
In the Division IV quarterfinals:
Palos Verdes Peninsula 9, Cypress 8--Cypress (22-5) trailed by one with 13 seconds left, but Peninsula stole the ball to seal the victory. Lindsay Sampson had three goals and Candy Gifford had two for Cypress.
Rosary 11, Laguna Beach 4--Natalie Golda had five goals as all six starters scored for visiting Rosary (20-4), which plays Peninsula in the semifinal Thursday.
University 4, El Dorado 3--Senior Hayley Sudeith scored the winning goal For University (16-11) from the four-meter position with 2:27 left to play in the game. Sudeith finished with three goals. Trojan goalkeeper Amy Hilts had 21 saves. The Trojans will play Santa Monica, which defeated Katella, 12-6.
