LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (5-7) at GONZAGA (10-4), 7 p.m., KXLU-FM (88.9)--The Lions, having lost four of their last six games, open the West Coast schedule against the coaches’ preseason pick to the conference title. The Bulldogs suffered three of their losses to ranked teams and all four were to teams in last year’s NCAA tournament. They beat then-No. 17 Washington, 82-71, early in December. The Lions will see if a grueling nonconference schedule (games at Utah, Xavier and UCLA) can help them in WCC play. Gonzaga is the top-scoring team in the WCC, and Loyola is third. Each team has four players averaging in double figures in points, with junior guard Richie Frahm (15.6) leading the Bulldogs and senior guard Willie Allen (13.4) leading the Lions.
