Valencia Blanks Canyon

Heather Zubis scored in the 30th and 55th minutes to lift Valencia High over Canyon, 2-0, in a Foothill League girls’ soccer game Friday at Canyon.

Christine La Salle and Katie Bunn had the assists on Zubis’ goals.

The Vikings (12-3-4, 3-2 in league play) beat Canyon for the first time in Valencia’s four-year history.

Agoura 2, Thousand Oaks 0--Jennifer Graham scored a goal and assisted on another in a Marmonte League game at Agoura (10-4-2, 5-1-1).

Graham scored in the 30th minute with an assist from Heather Sims and assisted on Emily Skiles’ goal in the 60th minute.

Hart 5, Saugus 0--Mandy Mansfield, Ali Pavoni, Erin Misaki, Becca Gould and Kristine Marbach scored in a Foothill League game at Hart (14-4-1, 4-1).

Chatsworth 3, Palisades 1--Katie Klain, Shannon DeVos and Jackie Fodor scored for the Chancellors (14-2-1, 4-0) in a Coast/Valley League game at Palisades.

Reseda 1, Poly 0--Malarie Wheatley scored 10 minutes into the second half and goalkeeper Melissa Thomas made three saves in posting her first shutout of the season in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Poly.

Reseda is 2-4-1, 2-2.

Viewpoint 9, Buckley 0--Melody Yazdanyra had five goals, and Shireen Zorba and Zanda Raishuna each scored twice in a Liberty League game at Viewpoint (5-3-1, 4-0-1).

Nordhoff 6, Santa Clara 0--Jenna Hunter had two goals, giving her 17, and two assists in a Frontier League game at Santa Clara.

Hunter scored twice in the first half. Kelsey Gartrell, Stacey Canfield, Alicia Catoni and Lea Tallakson also scored for the Rangers (10-4-1, 3-0-1).

Oak Park 8, Bishop Diego 0--Rebecca Carroll and Amy Poyer each had three goals, and Liz Young made three saves to notch her sixth shutout in a Tri-Valley League game at Oak Park (8-9, 4-0).

Westlake 5, Newbury Park 0--Sara Silverhill scored two goals and Katie Peck made four saves in a Marmonte game at Westlake (13-1-0, 7-0).

BOYS’ SOCCER

Simi Valley 0, Moorpark 0--The teams tied for the second time this season in a Marmonte League game at Moorpark.

Simi Valley (7-4-6, 2-0-5) also has tied Royal, Westlake and Newbury Park in league play.

Grant 3, Van Nuys 1--Rafael Escalante scored two goals and Peter Rodriguez had two assists for the Lancers (6-4-6, 3-1-4) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys.

Campbell Hall 1, Montclair Prep 0--Justin Drexler scored in the 75th minute on an assist from Sean Alexander in a Delphic League game at Campbell Hall. Tanner Ragland made 21 saves and recorded his first shutout.

Plamdale 1, Highland O--Ryan Rose scored from 18 yards in the 20th minute in a Golden League game at Highland.

Chris Sandoval made nine saves, recording the fifth shutout for Palmdale (7-9-1, 3-1-1).

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Harvard-Westlake 30, Marymount 8--Nina Simon scored five goals in the first three minutes in a Mission League victory at Harvard-Westlake (15-1, 5-0).
