Boys’ and girls’ summer all-star games pitting Ventura County players against Santa Barbara County players are scheduled for Friday at Moorpark College.

The girls’ game is scheduled for 6 p.m., with the boys’ game at 8.

General admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students with identification cards.

* The American Roundball Corp. Summer Basketball Academy is holding registration for boys and girls in grades 1-8 at 9 a.m. Saturday at North Hollywood High and 1 p.m. at Pierce College.

Tryouts for the ARC girls’ traveling teams in grades 4-8 will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Hollywood.

DIVING

* David Plummer of Dive Thousand Oaks placed third and teammate Azael Perry was fourth in one-meter diving in the novice boys’ 10- and 11-year-olds’ division of the Lee Brennan Memorial Invitational last weekend in Laguna Niguel.

Fourth-place finishes for Dive Thousand Oaks went to Jessica Bennett in the 12- and 13-year-olds’ three-meter novice girls’ division, and to Jennifer Vreeke in the 12-13 one-meter novice girls’ division.

Vreeke was fifth in the 12-13 three-meter novice girls’ group, and Bennett was fifth on the one-meter board. Lily Lethbridge placed eighth in the 9-and-under one-meter novice girls’ competition.

BASEBALL

* Cal State Northridge will hold three one-week sessions of its baseball camp for boys and girls 6 and older this summer.

Pitching Coach Jamie Nelson will direct the camp.

The sessions are scheduled for July 5-9, 12-16 and 19-23. Cost is $160 per session. Several former major leaguers are scheduled to make appearances.

VOLLEYBALL

* Jeannie Lane has been appointed girls’ coach at Chaminade.

Lane, a graduate of Saugus High, coached at Pomona Garey High last season and also has been a junior varsity coach at Notre Dame.

HONORS

* The California Coaches Assn. will honor five people with ties to the region at its 1999 Hall of Fame and Coach of the Year banquet June 26 at the Town & Country Resort Hotel in San Diego.

In the high school category, Scott King of Birmingham was selected girls’ cross-country state coach of the year, Joe Pawlick of Westlake was chosen girls’ state athletic director of the year and Jim Clemmesen of Van Nuys Middle School was picked as middle school coach of the year.

Eddie Lopez of Glendale College was selected men’s cross-country state coach of the year in the college awards, and John Wooden, who lives in Encino, was selected state coach of the century.
