Osborn Helps Troy Defeat Savanna
Tom Osborn scored two touchdowns to help Troy defeat Savanna, 28-7, in a Division IX Southern Section first-round playoff game Friday night at Fullerton High.
On its second play of the game, Troy quarterback Jordan Oliver connected with Dan Diaz for a 65-yard touchdown pass. This was the first of four big plays that enabled the Warriors to come away with the victory.
With 6 minutes 19 seconds left in the second quarter, Troy running back Brett Murray took the ball on his own 44 and raced 56 yards for Troy’s second touchdown.
On the next series, Savanna (5-6) was forced to punt from their own 35 but Troy’s Steve Harris blocked the kick.
Linebacker Ryan Webb picked up the ball and took it down to the Savanna six. Two plays later, Osborn scored from the five. He scored from four yards in the fourth quarter.
Savanna scored their only touchdown midway in the second quarter on a four-yard run by Micos Benjamin.
