St. Francis Advances With 41-7 Victory

Tailback Matthew Milton rushed for 147 yards and scored three touchdowns and quarterback John Sciarra passed for 199 yards and two touchdowns to lead La Canada St. Francis to a 41-7 victory over Canyon Country Canyon in a Southern Section Division III quarterfinal playoff game Saturday night at Canyon.

In other quarterfinals Saturday:

Saugus 48, Palmdale Highland 37--The see-saw battle that was suspended by a power outage with Saugus leading 35-34 with 1:57 left in the third quarter Friday night turned into a one-sided affair when play resumed Saturday morning in the Division III game at College of the Canyons.

Corey Pearson returned a blocked punt 15 yards for a touchdown to give Saugus a 41-34 lead.

Banning 46, Orange Lutheran 35--Running back Geno Randle rushed for 222 yards and had 124 yards in kick returns to lead Banning to the Division XI victory.
