A 70-year-old man was found dead Monday afternoon in a community spa in Irvine.
About 4:40 p.m., two men discovered Elliott Bailey floating in the spa at Westpark, a community of condominiums, apartments and single-family homes in the area of Santa Clara and Paseo Westpark, police said.
The spa, which is kept at a temperature of about 105 degrees, is open only to community residents, all of whom are issued keys, said Lt. Dave Freedland, a spokesman for the Irvine Police Department. An autopsy will be performed today to determine the cause of death, said a spokesman for the county coroner’s office, which is investigating the incident. Foul play is not suspected, officials said.
