PREP FOOTBALL GAMES AT A GLANCE
7 TONIGHT IRVINE HIGH
Aliso Niguel, fresh from its 21-14 upset of Pacifica, will try to match former Pacific Coast League member Laguna Hills with a victory in its Sea View League debut. With little margin for error to get one of the league’s three automatic playoff berths, eachteam feels this is a game it must win. Aliso Niguel quarterback Joel Smith (63.3%, one interception) presents a test for the Irvine secondary. Four of his five touchdowns, all in the last three games, have covered 60 yards or more. The Wolverines also are a special teams threat, having returned a punt for a touchdown the last two weeks.
