Ventura 17, Mt. San Jacinto 7--Travis Rogers rushed for 171 yards and a touchdown in 40 carries and had two receptions for 36 yards to lead the Pirates in a nonconference game at Ventura High.

Ventura (2-0), ranked No. 11 in the state, held Mt. San Jacinto (1-1) to 89 yards in the first half and 249 total.

Defensive lineman Torrance Heggie had two of Ventura’s five sacks of Garrett Ritchea.

Ritchea completed 10 of 29 attempts for 49 yards.
