VALLEY / VENTURA COUNTY SPORTS : DIGEST : Kennedy, Fick Hoping to Rise in Fall League

Adam Kennedy and Robert Fick, former Cal State Northridge All-American baseball players, will play in the Arizona Fall League.
Kennedy, a second baseman batting .280 for the St. Louis Cardinals, will play for the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Kennedy, who spent most of the season in triple-A, might be asked to learn the outfield during the fall.
Fick, a catcher who has two home runs in 23 at-bats with the Detroit Tigers, will play for the Scottsdale Scorpions. Fick missed most of the season recovering from shoulder surgery.
Former Oak Park High coach Bill Springman is the bench coach for the Grand Canyon Rafters.
