* Former Marina High football Coach Mark Rehling, fired in February by Principal Carol Osbrink, has been hired as an offensive line coach at Los Alamitos, Coach John Barnes said.

In five seasons at Marina, Rehling was 18-31-2. Last season Marina was 5-5-1 and earned a playoff berth.

Rehling said he will stay at Los Alamitos for at least a year and then make a decision about the future.

‘I would still like to become a head coach again someday,” he said. “But for now, there are worse places to be than Los Alamitos football.”
