Terry Elledge feels a little guilty, even though he knows he’s not at fault.

For the last three seasons, the Harvard-Westlake coach has helped host a team from Grove City, Ohio.

Harvard-Westlake was supposed to play Grove City on Monday, the second of a four-game Southern California swing, but the game was rained out.

“It’s amazing,” Elledge said. “We go a whole year without missing a day because of rain, then they come and this happens.

“It’s like when I’ve been involved leading ski trips. You kind of feel responsible if you all get there and there’s no snow.”

Grove City, which lost to Notre Dame, 4-0, on Saturday, is scheduled to play at Alemany today and at Santa Monica on Thursday.

Harvard-Westlake filled the void by adding a game against Bishop Amat next Wednesday.

Rain played havoc with many teams in the region this week.

The game between defending Foothill League co-champions Hart and Saugus was postponed on Tuesday and rescheduled for Monday at Newhall Park.

Hart (13-3, 2-0 in league play) has gone two weeks without a game, thanks to the weather and miscommunication.

On April 6, the Indians showed up for a game at Burroughs. Their presence was a shock to Burroughs, which was in the middle of a practice.

That game has yet to be rescheduled.

“The girls are just dying to get back on the field,” Coach Cathy Giordano of Hart said.
