In other Sunset League games:

No. 7 Fountain Valley 2, No. 8 Esperanza 1--Natalie King allowed one run on three hits and struck out 12 batters to lead host Fountain Valley (18-7, 4-1) to the victory and a three-way tie for first place in league with Marina and Los Alamitos.

Trailing, 1-0, entering the fifth inning, Kirin Kumar doubled to lead off the inning but was erased while trying to score on an infield ground ball for the first out of the inning.

But later in the inning with the bases loaded, Tiffani Miller drove in the first Baron run with a fielder’s choice and then Christina Skaggs drove in what proved to be the game-winning run with a single to left field.

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 12, Buena Park 2--Amber Turner (4-4) struck out nine, walked none and allowed two unearned runs en route to the victory for the host Highlanders (8-12-1, 1-4). Second baseman Cassie Preece had two RBIs, scored twice and stole one base for La Habra.

Sunny Hills 4, Sonora 3--Erin Jones had three hits with two RBIs for host Sunny Hilla (11-8, 4-1), including a two-run double that scored the game-winning run. Teammate Stephanie Beltran had two hits, including a double, and one RBI. Sunny Hills is tied with Sonora (18-6, 4-1) for first place in the Freeway League.

Troy 5, Fullerton 0--Lindsey Knoff pitched a no-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk for host Troy (16-6, 3-2). Lisa Jackson had a double and three RBIs for the Warriors.

In the Garden Grove League:

No. 5 Pacifica 19, Bolsa Grande 0 (5, mercy)--Jodie Legaspi hit a grand slam in the first inning for host Pacifica (17-7-1, 8-0). Teammate Mallorie Lenn had two hits with four RBIs for the Mariners.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Northwood 14, Laguna Beach 0--Allison Lewis pitched a three-hitter, striking out seven in a five-inning mercy-rule game at Northwood. Sophomore Allyson Pizula went two for three with two RBIs and scored a run for the Timberwolves (11-2, 5-0).
