In the West Coast Classic:

No. 9 Mater Dei 14, Oakland Wilcox 3--Sergio Santos had three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs, for Mater Dei (15-6), which advanced to the championship game today against Oakland Bishop O’Dowd. Anthony Slama gave up five hits and struck out six to earn his third win for the Monarchs, who defeated Oakland Leigh, 10-5 in the quarterfinals. Richard Mercado struck out 11 and Santos hit his eighth home run in the quarterfinal win.

In the Century League:

No. 1 Villa Park 10, Orange 0 (5, mercy)--Brandon Averill pitched a five-inning no-hitter to earn his seventh victory of the season for host Villa Park (20-1, 10-0). Averill also hit his fourth home run.

In the Sea View League:

No. 6 Irvine 15, Aliso Niguel 1 (5, mercy)--Jon de Vries hit two home runs--a solo shot in the fourth inning and a two-run home run in the fifth--for Irvine (16-5, 11-1). Pitcher Chad Hazlett gave up one run on four hits, one walk and struck out five in five innings for the visiting Vaqueros.

Teammate David Parker had two hits and four RBIs.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 9, El Toro 5--Scott Cheo had two hits, including his sixth home run, for the host Cougars (13-8, 6-4).

Mission Viejo 4, No. 4 Trabuco Hills 1--Senior John Hudgins struck out 10 and gave up one earned run on four hits to pick up his eighth win for host Mission Viejo (11-7, 6-4).

San Clemente 9, Dana Hills 8--Todd Jaramillo’s three-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the seventh capped a comeback for San Clemente (9-11, 4-6).

In the Sunset League:

No. 5 Esperanza 5, Edison 2--Right fielder Kent Carpenter hit a two-run double to highlight a four-run fifth for the visiting Aztecs (16-5, 8-3).

Edison is 10-10, 3-7.

Los Alamitos 3, No. 2 Fountain Valley 2--Nick Fitzgerald drove in the winning run with a single in the top of the sixth inning for Los Alamitos (11-10, 6-4).

Casey Janssen hit a solo home run in the fourth for host Fountain Valley (17-4, 7-3).
