Sylmar Has Right Combination, 6-0
Eddie Camacho and Jaime Mah combined on a no-hitter for Sylmar High in a 6-0 victory over Monroe in a Valley Mission League baseball game on Thursday at Sylmar.
Camacho (5-2) struck out 10 and walked five in five innings. He hit a two-run home run in the Spartans’ three-run first inning and added a run-scoring single.
Mah had two strikeouts and a walk in two innings.
The no-hitter was the third this season for Sylmar (14-7, 7-3 in league play). Camacho pitched a perfect game and Ivan Lopez had a no-hitter.
Sylmar allowed only one hit against Monroe on Tuesday.
Kennedy 12, Reseda 1--Juan Sepulveda had three hits and two runs batted in for the Golden Cougars in a Valley Mission League game.
Adam Geery (2-4) allowed three hits and struck out six in four innings for Kennedy (15-9, 8-2).
San Fernando 13, Van Nuys 2--Manny Flores, Jose Montes and Ronny Mendez hit doubles for the Tigers (14-10, 8-2) in a Valley Mission League game called after six innings at Van Nuys (3-7).
Birmingham 6, Granada Hills 1--Freshman Rosalio Garcia pitched a six-hitter with six strikeouts for the Patriots in a West Valley League game at Birmingham.
Jose Carrillo had two hits, including a run-scoring double, for Birmingham (15-8, 5-5).
San Jose Wilcox 12, Westlake 5--Jeff Dragicevich had two hits, including a double, and two runs batted in, and Ryan McCarthy had two hits for Westlake (19-3) in the third-place game of the West Coast Classic at Santa Clara University.
Thousand Oaks 8, Sonoma Valley 5--Greg Simonetti (6-1) tossed a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and Tracy Goebel had a double, triple and four RBIs for the Lancers (15-5) in San Luis Obispo tournament victory at Sinsheimer Park.
Montclair Prep 7, Brentwood 6--Nick Nunnari scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to give the Mounties (12-6, 5-1) a Delphic League victory at Mission Hills Senior Little League Complex.
