Three stadium records.

Three meet records.

Two state leaders.

That’s what Oliver Jackson of Royal High accomplished in the first of his four events in the Ventura County track and field championships at Moorpark High on Friday evening.

Jackson, runner-up in the long jump in the state championships last year, leaped a career-best 24-5 3/4 to win the event for the third consecutive year before winning the triple jump in 44-6, placing second in the 300 intermediate hurdles in 39.11 and running a 51.2 anchor leg on Royal’s 1,600-meter relay team that placed was in 3:30.27.

Jackson, who has signed with UCLA, had a superb series in the long jump, leaping 24-0 1/2 on his first attempt, 24-4 1/2 on his second and 24-5 3/4 on his third before passing his final attempt.

All three jumps bettered the meet record of 23-11 1/2 set by Jackson last year.

His last two jumps topped the previous state-best of 24-4 set by Tony Allmond of Sante Fe Springs St. Paul in the Flo Jo Memorial Arcadia Invitational at Citrus College on April 8.

Jackson’s final jump added an inch to his career best set last year and solidified his hold on sixth on the all-time region and second on the all-time Ventura County performer list.

“I’m still trying to pass 25 [feet],” Jackson said. “That’s a major goal for me. . . . And after that, I want to go for the high 25s. . . . I’m still confident I can do that even though I haven’t come close yet.”

Josh Spiker of Ventura, who is continuing his comeback from a stress fracture that kept him from racing for five months, won the 1,600 in 4:18.39 after clocking 60.4 for the first 400.

He won the 800 in a career-best 1:55.50 after surging into the lead with 200 meters to go and blowing the race open in the final 80 meters.

“I felt horrible in the [1,600],” Spiker said. “I was hoping to run eight or nine seconds faster than that. . . .

“In the 800, I just went out there to have fun and turn it into a sit and kick race.”

Dusty Gould of Thousand Oaks won the 110 highs in 15.07 and the 300 intermediates in a career-best 38.47 after pulling away from Jackson over the final barrier.

Will Svitek of Newbury Park won the shotput at 59-3 and the discus at 145-0, both for the second consecutive year.

Porchea Carroll of Rio Mesa, state leader in the 100 at 11.60, ran 12.03 to win that event for the third consecutive year, leaped 18-6 to win her second consecutive long jump title.

Carroll also ran on teams that won the 400 relay in 48.58 and the 1,600 relay in 4:04.77.

Laura Jakosky of Agoura won the 1,600 in a career-best 5:04.03 and the 3,200 in 11:01.75.

Meredith Perry of Westlake took the 100 high hurdles in 15.60 and the pole vault at 10 feet.

Lisa Wygant of Camarillo set a career best and meet record of 5-6 1/4 to win the high jump and won her second consecutive title in the triple jump with a leap of 34-10 1/2.

Shelaine Larson of Buena won her first county title in the shotput with a toss of 37-6 1/4 and her second consecutive title in the discus with a throw of 129-1.
