La Quinta 20, Barstow 14--Jeff Webb scored on touchdown receptions of 64 and 63 yards as the Blackhawks (13-1) built a 20-6 fourth-quarter lead over the Aztecs (11-3) and captured the Division VIII championship at La Quinta.
Aquinas 27, Pasadena Poly 21--Thomas Walton ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns in 19 carries for Aquinas at Pasadena City College in the Division XIII title game. It is the Falcon’s first Southern Section football championship.
Glenn Ohaeri added 143 yards in 16 carries, including a 76-yard second-quarter touchdown run for the second-seeded Falcons (11-2-1), who ended the top-seeded Panthers’ 19-game winning streak.
