Aquinas 27, Pasadena Poly 21--Thomas Walton ran for 182 yards and three touchdowns in 19 carries as the Falcons defeated the Panthers at Pasadena City College in the Division XIII title game to win their first Southern Section football championship.

Glenn Ohaeri added 143 yards in 16 carries, including a 76-yard second-quarter touchdown as the second-seeded Falcons (11-2-1) ended the top-seeded Panthers’ 19-game winning streak.

Trailing 7-6 at halftime, Aquinas took the lead for good on the opening series of the second half, driving 71 yards on eight plays, ending with Walton’s one-yard run. Walton had the key gain of the drive, running 33 yards for a first down on Poly’s 29.

The Falcons increased their lead to 20-7 on their next possession, with Walton scoring from three yards, 10 plays after Walton intercepted a Ben Imhoff pass.
