Valencia’s ‘Angels’ Earn Wings by Spoofing Another Film

Oh, heavens. Valencia High has done it again.
The girls’ basketball team, which has given us spoof schedule posters of “Men in Black” and “Spice World,” has turned its attention to “Charlie’s Angels” this season.
The schedule, which resembles a movie marquee poster, is titled “Jerry’s Angels” and features Viking players doing their best Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore impersonations while surrounding Coach Jerry Mike.
The posters have become a popular tradition at Valencia.
“It’s kind of fun,” said All-Valley guard Valerie Pina. “There’s probably one up in every room in our school.”
The posters have been a smash hit at Valencia (8-2), which won its first Foothill League title last season.
But the decision to spoof Charlie’s Angels wasn’t unanimous.
“I wanted to do Mission Impossible II so I could be Tom Cruise,” Mike said. “But I was shot down.”
