*PEPPERDINE (6-4) at NEVADA LAS VEGAS (4-5), 7:30--The Waves, 0-2 in games outside California, face a Runnin’ Rebel team that appears to have regrouped under Coach Max Good, who replaced the fired Bill Bayno last week. UNLV is coming off a 101-71 victory over Alaska Anchorage in which center Kaspars Kambala scored 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting. Pepperdine has had problems stopping big men, including USC’s Brian Scalabrine and Utah’s Chris Burgess and Nate Althoff. The Waves get little production from their own centers: Freshman starter Will Kimble averages 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds, and junior Cedric Suitt averages 1.1 points and 1.6 rebounds. Pepperdine will be bolstered by sharp-shooting guard Craig Lewis, who played three minutes in a 69-56 loss to Utah on Tuesday after sitting out four games because of a sprained ankle.
