The top soccer showcase for girls in Southern California, the Excalibur tournament, begins Wednesday. Some of Southern California’s top girls’ water polo teams begin play Thursday in the Corona del Mar-Newport Harbor tournament.

The focus of boys’ basketball on a national scale shifts from Las Vegas to Del Mar, and the Marina tournament has some of the best boys’ soccer teams participating.
