* LONG BEACH STATE (18-4, 10-1) at NEVADA (5-17, 3-8), 7 p.m., KPLS (830)--The 49ers clinched a spot in the Big West Conference tournament with a victory at Pacific on Thursday, and can clinch at least a tie for the Western Division title with a victory tonight against the Eastern Division’s worst team and a UC Santa Barbara loss. The 49ers have not won the Western Division since the Big West split into two divisions before the 1996-97 season. Long Beach State, which has won 16 of 17, had nine steals and forced 11 turnovers against the Tigers. The 49ers also outscored Pacific, 37-29, in the second half. Long Beach State is outscoring its opponents by 10 in the second half.
