Oxnard Outpoints Moorpark

Sara Wilkins’ free throw with just over a minute remaining gave Oxnard High a 48-47 nonleague victory over Moorpark on Tuesday night at Oxnard in a game featuring the defending champions of the Pacific View and Marmonte leagues.

Wilkins finished with 11 points, 17 rebounds and five steals for the Yellowjackets (10-5), ranked eighth in the region by The Times.

Michelle Morgan added 11 points, six rebounds and three steals.

Kristin Nadas had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots for Moorpark (8-5).

Notre Dame 63, Chaminade 50--Sheila Penn scored 13 of her 18 points during a 27-point third quarter for the Knights in a Mission League victory at Chaminade.

Sierra Hauser-Price scored 19 points for Notre Dame (10-4), despite making only five of 22 shots, including two of six three-pointers.

Freshman Christina Zdenek scored 18 points and Julie Cichon had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (7-6).

Harvard-Westlake 72, Louisville 48--L’Tanya Robnett scored 27 points for the No. 5 Wolverines (11-4) in a Mission League-opening victory at Harvard-Westlake.

Sarah Kelso scored 18 points for Louisville (3-6).

Littlerock 65, Hart 50--The Lobos broke open a 23-23 halftime tie by outscoring the Indians, 24-12, in the third quarter of a nonleague game at Hart.

Rashawna Mays scored 16 points and Lizette Rams added 13 for Littlerock (11-4).

Freshman Amanda Patton scored 21 points for Hart (5-8).

Valencia 49, Hoover 40--Megan Honaker had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Marissa Meadows added 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Vikings (8-6), who overcame a nine-point third-quarter deficit to win a nonleague game at Valencia.

Tenie Hartounian and Christina Hayrapetian each scored 13 points for Hoover (6-9).

Saugus 67, Lancaster 42--Freshman Julia Bradley scored 19 points and Ornella Grosz added 15 for the Centurions (6-8) in a nonleague victory at Saugus.

Crescenta Valley 59, Burroughs 49--The Falcons outlasted the Indians in a nonleague game at Crescenta Valley.

Quartz Hill 72, Paraclete 63--Sharonne Herbert scored 21 points and McKena Richardson added 20 points for the Rebels in a nonleague victory at Quartz Hill.

Jackie Kolesar had 35 points for and 10 rebounds for Paraclete (9-5), which trailed, 32-27, at halftime.

Burbank 63, San Gabriel 35--Sophomore Kristin Aponik had 22 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs in a nonleague victory at Burbank.

Christine Kepenekian had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Burbank (10-5).

Serra 36, Bell-Jeff 33--Ana Coronado had 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Guards (3-11), who were outscored, 24-10, in the second half of a Camino Real League-opening loss at Bell-Jeff.

Providence 62, Viewpoint 17--Krystal Dry had nine points, eight rebounds and three steals for the Patriots in a Liberty League loss at Viewpoint.

Viewpoint (2-3, 0-3) trailed, 32-11, at halftime and was outscored, 30-6, in the second half.

Allison Lane scored 18 points for the Pioneers (9-2, 2-0).

Faith Baptist 37, Ribet Academy 33--Rose Sierra had 12 points and 10 steals, and Brianna Weilbacher added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Contenders (8-3) in a Heritage League opener at Faith Baptist.
