Cal Lutheran Women Start Fast
Anna Lindseth had 29 points and eight rebounds to help Cal Lutheran open Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a 92-65 women’s basketball victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Thousand Oaks.
Katie Carpenter had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Regals (7-5), who led at halftime, 44-31.

Rio Mesa 9, Oxnard 2--Brianna Monka, Brittany Gonzales and Chrissy Hildebrant each scored twice for the Spartans (7-6-1, 4-0-1) in a Pacific View League game at Oxnard.
Camarillo 3, Channel Islands 0--Erin Braunschweiger and Danielle Meier each had a goal and an assist for the Scorpions (8-4, 5-1) in a Pacific View League game at Channel Islands.
Canyon 13, Burbank 0--Jaime Rendich had three goals and four assists for the Cowboys (12-4-2, 1-1-1) in a Foothill League game.
Saugus 4, Burroughs 2--Jocelyn Hein had three goals and an assist to lift the Centurions (3-9-2, 1-1) past Indians (9-7, 2-1) in a Foothill League game.
Sherman Oaks CES 3, L.A. CES 2--Katie Caparula had two goals for host Sherman Oaks CES (3-0-1) in a Magnet League opener.
Granada Hills 2, Cleveland 2--Jocelyn Arroyo scored twice in the second half to give the Highlanders (2-1-4) a tie in a West Valley League opener at Cleveland.
