Morgan Hits the Clutch to Floor Dos Pueblos at End

Michelle Morgan’s 10-foot jump shot with 7.9 seconds remaining gave Oxnard High a 45-44 nonleague victory over Dos Pueblos Thursday night at Oxnard.

Morgan finished with 12 points, five assists and three steals for the Yellowjackets (16-5), ranked No. 6 in the region by The Times.

Sara Wilkins had 13 points and 14 rebounds, and Memory Rhone had six points and 10 rebounds for Oxnard.

Kim Johnson scored 13 points for Dos Pueblos (9-8).

Littlerock 41, Palmdale 36--The Lobos outscored the Falcons, 6-0, in the final 1:12 to win a Golden League game at Littlerock.

It was Littlerock’s first victory against Palmdale, which won the first 20 games of the series.

Jolene Haywood, who had 12 points and seven assists, scored on a drive with 1:12 left to give Littlerock (15-5, 4-1) a 37-36 lead.

Antelope Valley 51, Highland 49--The Antelopes blew an eight-point third-quarter lead and fell behind by four points midway through the fourth quarter, then rallied for a Golden League victory at Highland.

Juanita Newsome scored six of her 15 points in the fourth quarter for Antelope Valley (15-3, 4-1), ranked No. 8 in the region.

Denisha McQueen scored 18 points for the Bulldogs (8-11, 2-3).

Channel Islands 73, Hueneme 41--Monique Taylor scored her 30 points in the first three quarters before the Raiders emptied the bench in a Pacific View League game at Channel Islands.

Chenne Tuimoloau scored 19 points for No. 9-ranked Channel Islands (16-3, 2-2).

BOYS

Chaminade 51, Loyola 38--Scott Borchart scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter for the Eagles in a Mission League victory at Loyola.

Borchart, who had 15 rebounds, made all three of his shots and all four of his free throws in the fourth quarter for Chaminade (12-5, 3-2), ranked No. 6.

Notre Dame 60, Crespi 58--Cody Pearson scored 13 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter for the Knights in a Mission League victory at Crespi, posting the second triple-double of his career.

Pearson, a 6-foot-3 junior guard, had 17 rebounds, 10 assists, five steals and four blocked shotsfor No. 8 Notre Dame (14-5, 4-2).

Andrew Moore scored 23 points for Crespi (9-9, 1-4), which has lost four of five games since winning the Westlake tournament Dec. 30.

St. Francis 63, Alemany 61--The Golden Knights held off a second-half charge by the Indians in a Mission League game at St. Francis.

Michael Jenkins scored 18 points and Jeff Brown added 15 for the Golden Knights (9-9, 2-3).

Reny Maynard scored 18 points for Alemany (6-12, 1-4).

Grace Brethren 61, Faith Baptist 52--Robert Serra of Grace Brethren scored with three seconds left in regulation to send the Heritage League game into overtime and the Lancers outscored the Contenders, 9-0, in the second overtime at Faith Baptist.
