From Staff Reports

Rain has delayed the NAIA World Series, where The Master’s College is one of the final four teams.

The Mustangs (37-14) play at 2:30 p.m. today in an elimination game against Dallas Baptist (42-22-1).

The other game today, at 6 p.m., pits unbeaten and defending champion Lewis-Clark State College (57-12) against once-beaten Indiana Tech (47-21).

Lewis-Clark, the top-seeded team and host, handed Dallas Baptist its first loss of the tournament, 4-3, Wednesday night.

Master’s is 2-1 in the tournament, having lost 15-1 on Monday to Lewis-Clark. The Mustangs eliminated Shawnee State (Ohio), 10-1, on Tuesday. Shawnee finished 48-16.

Master’s opened with a 6-5 victory over Birmingham Southern (46-20) on Friday.

If the Mustangs win today, it could put them in the World Series final at 6 p.m. on Friday if Lewis-Clark beats Indiana Tech.

If they meet an unbeaten Lewis-Clark team, they would need victories Friday and Saturday to win the championship.

Indiana Tech lost its opener, 11-0, to Shawnee State but has defeated St. Thomas (Fla.), 18-10, Bellevue (Neb.), 8-7 in 11 innings, and Albertson (Idaho), 4-3.

Dallas Baptist opened with a 5-4, 10-inning victory over St. Thomas, and defeated Shawnee State, 9-8.
