EVENT OF THE WEEK

State track and field championships, Friday and Saturday at Cerritos College--Riverside J.W. North is the defending girls’ champion and Vallejo is the defending boys’ champion. The meet will feature some of the nation’s best prep athletes. Friday’s qualifying begins with field events at 2 p.m., running events at 5. For Saturday’s finals, field events begin at 2:15 p.m., running events at 4.
