Hajduk Shoots 70 to Ohye’s 72 but Calabasas Beats Nordhoff

Tommy Hajduk of Nordhoff High outplayed Justin Ohye, but Calabasas High had the depth to score a 385-388 victory in a nonleague boys’ golf match Thursday at Soule Park in Ojai.

Hajduk fired a two-under-par 70 for Nordhoff (0-2), making birdies on the par-four first, second and ninth holes. He made a bogey on the par-three 10th hole.

Ohye made 16 pars on his way to an even-par 72 for the Coyotes (1-0).

Ohye birdied the par-four 13th hole and bogeyed the par-five 11th hole.

Camarillo 391, Hart 406--Dustin Bobrowski and Jordan Silvertrust each fired a five-over par 76 and Kyle Dowden and Randy Carpenter had 78s for the Scorpions (2-0) in a nonleague match at Spanish Hills Country Club.

Brian Edick of Hart (3-1) was the medalist with a 74.

Simi Valley 398, Saugus 435, Moorpark 457--Dante Ciolfi of Simi Valley shot a six-over-par 77 to win medalist honors at Elkins Ranch Golf Course.

Mark Modglin finished with a 78 for Simi Valley (2-1).

Oak Park 196, Viewpoint 240, Malibu 260--Richard Young of Oak Park shot a one-over-par 37 at Malibu Country Club.

SOFTBALL

Van Nuys 18, Taft 14--The Wolves scored four runs in the top of the eighth to help overcome its 12 errors at Woodland Hill Recreation Center.

America Medina and Veronica Castillo each had three hits and three runs batted in for the Wolves.

San Fernando 6, Huntington Park 0--Lorena Arreguin had three hits and four RBIs in a nonleague victory over the defending City Division champion Spartans at San Fernando.

Michelle Molina (3-0) pitched a two-hitter for the Tigers (7-1).

Chatsworth 15, Franklin 0--Rebeca McIntire had four hits and eight RBIs for the Chancellors in a nonleague game at Chatsworth.

McIntire hit three-run home runs in the first and second innings for the Chancellors (2-0).

Cassie Shires pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk.

BOYS’ TENNIS

El Camino Real 4, Chaminade 3--Micah Hauptman and Don Nguyen took a 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 victory from Paul Kraus and Andrew Chan to snap a 3-3 tie for the Conquistadores at El Camino Real.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Highland def. Saugus, 15-6, 15-6, 15-12--Mike Kennedy had five of his 12 kills for the Bulldogs in the first game of a nonleague match at Highland.

Trent Sorensen added nine kills for Highland (1-0).

BOYS’ TRACK

Burroughs 77, Crescenta Valley 58--Brian Anderson was a double-winner for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Burroughs.

Anderson clocked 2:00.5 in the 800 meters and 4:28.4 for 1,600 meters on a wet track.

Teammate Mike Navarro was second to Anderson in both events (2:06.7, 4:32.7).
