BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS / DIVISION II-AA
Brea Olinda (24-6) vs. Compton Dominguez (30-2)
2:15 TODAY ARROWHEAD POND
Brea’s biggest problem against the nation’s top-ranked team (according to USA Today) is that the Wildcats don’t match up well in the key with the tall and talented Dons. Seven-foot junior center Tyson Chandler, who many think will have the option of going right from high school to the NBA if he continues to develop as rapidly as he has, is an imposing force around the basket. He scored 19 points Wednesday and had numerous dunks to lead the Dons in their 79-61 victory over Redondo Beach Redondo Union in a semifinal. The Wildcats need big games from their trio of guards if they hope to have any chance. Dominguez will be after its sixth consecutive section title. Brea is playing in its first final.
