In another women’s game:

Canyons 89, Irvine Valley 74--The visiting Lasers were up, 42-34, at the half but Canyons scored the first 10 points of the second half.

Sha’Tasha Allen scored 19 of her 29 points in the second half for host Canyons (26-6).

In a men’s regional final:

Los Angeles Valley 91, Santa Ana 85--The loss ended Santa Ana’s 18-game home winning streak in the playoffs, which dated back to 1987.

Sophomore guard Felix Lang scored 22 for Los Angeles Valley (26-8) and sophomore forward Issac Williamson added 19.

Freshman forward Zac Fray had 26 points and 16 rebounds for Santa Ana (28-6), which made only 19 of 29 free throws.

L.A. Valley joins Riverside, Los Angeles City and Moorpark as the teams from Southern California that advance to the state tournament. Capistrano Valley alumnus Dan Galvanoni scored 23 points in Moorpark’s 70-61 victory over Cerritos.

In Orange Empire Conference baseball:

Santa Ana 5, Cypress 4 (11 innings)--Justin Gerlach hit a home run with two out in the bottom of the 11th inning for host Santa Ana (13-1-2, 2-1-1).

Santa Ana’s Carlos Pasillas homered with one out in the ninth to send the game into extra innings.

Riverside 8, Golden West 7--Riverside’s Eddie Cornejo doubled with two outs in the ninth and scored on Wayne Stone’s single to give host Riverside (15-1-1, 4-0) the victory. Ty Harper had four hits for Golden West (9-6, 1-2).
