Cara Chlebicki

MARINA UTILITY JR.

Although Marina finished second to Esperanza in the Sunset League, Chlebicki still earned her second consecutive league MVP honor, sharing it with Esperanza’s Teresa Guidi. Her improving all-around skills helped her score 90 goals--20 more than she did last season--and tally 87 steals in 27 games.

Kyndra Cox

NEWPORT HARBOR 2 METERS SR.

Newport Harbor Coach Bill Barnett called Cox the second-best two-meter player in the county behind UCLA-bound Natalie Golda of Rosary. Cox, the Sea View co-MVP with Irvine’s Kelly Graff, had 66 goals, 64 steals and 22 assists, helping the Sailors win 19 games and finish second to Irvine in league.

ROSARY 2 METERS SR.

Golda matured into the county’s most feared offensive player. In 28 games, she scored 124 goals, 16 more than her Division IV MVP total last season. She had eight in a 13-12 overtime loss to Santa Margarita, many of those coming against top-notch defender Jamie Kroeze, also an all-county selection.

Teresa Guidi

ESPERANZA UTILITY SR.

Guidi’s contributions went beyond the scorebook and her well-rounded game didn’t go unnoticed. Los Alamitos Coach Dave Carlson called her a big-game player who did whatever it took to win. Said Esperanza Coach Max Miyahara: “It’s hard to explain. She makes everyone around her better.”

Jamie Kroeze

SANTA MARGARITA UTILITY SR.

Kroeze didn’t have eye-popping statistics, but her defense and play-making were key factors for the Eagles, who finished the regular season as the county’s top-ranked team. She sustained a shoulder injury late in the season, but pushed through it to help Santa Margarita win the Division IV title.

Kristyn Pulver

VILLA PARK 2 METERS SR.

Pulver, who will play at UCLA next season, played through numerous injuries to finish with 53 goals, 41 assists and 94 steals this season. Her 318 goals in her career are nearly 200 more than the next player in school history. Pulver’s all-around game also earned her a third league MVP award.

Amber Stachowski

CAPISTRANO VALLEY UTILITY JR.

Stachowski’s speed, offensive creativity and power are matched only by her defensive quickness and tenacity. “When our players were being guarded by Amber,” El Toro Coach Don Stoll said after one game, “we told the other kids not to pass it over there. Amber is that good.”

SECOND TEAM

DANIELLE CARLSON, Corona del Mar, Utility, Fr.

One of the many talented freshmen in this season’s class; led the Sea Kings in scoring and helped them win the Pacific Coast League and reach the Division IV final.

EMILY FEHER, Foothill, Goalie, Fr.

Steady play in goal provided a solid foundation for the Knights’ defense, helping Foothill win the Century League and Division I.

ERIKA FIGGE, Santa Margarita, Utility, Fr.

Stepped up and provided a bit of everything when Jamie Kroeze went down with a shoulder injury; another versatile freshman who played a major role for a section champion.

STEPHENIE HAND, El Toro, Two Meters, Sr.

Instrumental in El Toro’s breakthrough season, when it won its first league title and nearly reached the Southern Section Division I final.

BRITTANY HAYES, Foothill, Utility, Fr.

Led the team in scoring with another freshman, Gabbie Domanic; her offensive and defensive versatility were big factors in Foothill’s Division I title run.

JACKIE PIRRO, Foothill, Two Meters, Sr.

The Knights’ co-captain was the team’s top two-meter defender; when she struggled, so did Foothill. She didn’t pile up the numbers, but she got her ring.

LINDSAY STEPHENS, Irvine, Utility, Sr.

Led the Vaqueros’ balanced offense in scoring and her all-around play offensively and defensively helped key Irvine’s league championship and postseason run.
