In Sea View League baseball:

No. 9 Irvine 9, Newport Harbor 3--Chad Hazlett won his seventh game in a row for Irvine (8-2, 5-0). Hazlett (7-1) went six innings, struck out seven and walked none.

Laguna Hills 5, Woodbridge 4--Eric Reed singled to center to score pinch-runner Kevin Barnum from second with the winning run for host Laguna Hills (5-5, 4-1).

In Serra League boys’ golf:

No. 1 Santa Margarita 173, Bellflower St. John Bosco 199--At Los Amigos, Taylor Wood and Andrew Price each had three birdies for Santa Margarita (7-0, 1-0). Wood finished with a three-under 32 and Price had a 33.

In nonleague boys’ golf:

No. 9 Brea Olinda 395, Villa Park 397--Clay Wright shot a one-over 37 at Strawberry Farms and finished with a four-over 76 for Brea Olinda (3-1).

Sunny Hills 187, Laguna Hills 200--Junior Daniel Do shot an even-par 35 for Sunny Hills (2-2) at Los Coyotes.

In nonleague softball:

Northwood 6, La Quinta 0--Northwood freshman Allison Lewis (4-1) pitched a three-hitter, striking out 11 and walking one.

In nonleague boys’ volleyball:

No. 2 Marina 3, No. 9 Mater Dei 0--Steffin Rangel had 22 kills and nine blocks for Marina (5-1), which won, 15-10, 15-10, 15-3.

Brian Costanzo had 12 kills for the Monarchs (4-2), who were playing without starting setter Mike Gazzano.
