Monroe Serves Up Four-Game Victory
Duke Ta had 15 kills and 13 digs to help Monroe High defeat Sylmar, 15-8, 15-4, 9-15, 15-10, in a Valley Mission League boys’ volleyball match Wednesday at Monroe.
Arthur Llanes had 36 assists for the Vikings (6-2, 4-0 in league play).
Royal def. Newbury Park, 15-6, 15-8, 15-8--Casey Wilkinson had 17 kills and the Highlanders (9-0, 7-0), ranked No. 1 in the region by The Times, won a Marmonte League match at Royal.
Highland def. Palmdale, 15-4, 15-7, 15-3--Mike Kennedy had eight kills for the Bulldogs (3-0) in a Golden League opener at Highland.
Quartz Hill def. Littlerock, 15-3, 15-4, 15-5--Jared Corpening had 15 kills for the Rebels (5-1, 1-0) in a Golden League victory at Littlerock.
Simi Valley def. Agoura 15-11, 15-8, 15-13--Tyler Meek had nine kills for the Pioneers (8-1, 5-1) in a Marmonte League victory at Simi Valley.
Chaminade def. Camarillo, 15-17, 15-6, 15-8, 15-11--Adam Hickerson had 17 kills for the Eagles (7-1) in a nonleague victory at Camarillo (5-5).
Taft def. Van Nuys, 15-1, 15-4, 15-11--Mike Gledhill had 16 kills for the host Toreadors (8-0) in nonleague play.
Chatsworth def. El Camino Real, 15-1, 15-7, 15-3--Jason Chung had nine kills for visiting Chatsworth (5-3, 3-1) in a West Valley League match.
