In the Orange League boys’ track and field finals:

Valencia wins--Freshman Juan Robles won the 1,600 (4:31.02) and 3,200 (9:56.84) for the Tigers (168 points), who finished ahead of Brea (104) and Western (96).

Western’s Dajuan Pannell won the 100 (10.96) and 200 (22.47) and anchored the winning 400 relay.

Valencia junior Keinan Briggs won the 110 hurdles (15.15), triple jump (42-7 3/4) and was second to Brea Olinda’s Matt Vanderworm (19-10) in the long jump.

In Sunset League finals:

Edison wins--Darryl Poston ran the fastest 100-meter time in the county this season, posting a wind-aided 10.76 at Huntington Beach High to help the Chargers win the meet with 172 points. Esperanza was second at 142.

Poston won the 200 (21.92), the long jump (22- 1/4) and ran on the winning 400 relay (43.52).

Esperanza’s Ryan Bousquet won the 800 (1:57.97), 1,600 (4:27.59) and 3,200 (9:31.66).

In the Academy girls’ finals:

St. Margaret’s wins--Jocelyn Parkinson won the 100 meters (12.7), 100 hurdles (16.2) and 300 hurdles (46.6) for the Tartans, who won their third consecutive title.

In the Orange League:

Brea wins--Brea won its eighth consecutive title with 277 points. Valencia was second at 69.

Kylie McCuen won the 100 in 12.50 seconds and the 200 (25.36) and junior Jenny Thune won the 800 (2:23.05) and 1,600 (5:22.59).

Sisters Kim Faoa and Val Faoa of Magnolia won the shot put and discus, respectively. Savanna’s Reanita Starr was first in the long jump (16-10 1/2) and triple jump (36-8).

In the Sunset League finals:

Esperanza wins--The Aztecs won with 166 points and Edison was second at 147. Edison’s Eurie Jennings won the triple jump (37-9 1/4) and long jump (17-5).

Fountain Valley’s Julie Allen won the 1,600 with her best time of the season (5:00.6) and also won the 3,200 (11:18.09).
