SEASON AT A GLANCE: Ohye, who has advanced to the Southern Section individual regionals in each of the last three years, averaged 73.5 strokes per round and was the medalist in 10 of Calabasas’ 15 matches entering the Central regional at Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning on Monday.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: The UC Irvine-bound Ohye shot four-under-par 67 to earn medalist honors in the freelance tournament at Rio Hondo Country Club in Downey and lead the Coyotes to a second-place finish behind Sunny Hills. “The par fives were the key,” Ohye said. “I birdied three out of the four.”

SPORT: Softball
SEASON AT A GLANCE: The University of San Diego-bound right-hander is 16-2 with a 0.78 earned-run average, leading the No. 2-ranked Wolverines (19-4) to the brink of their first league championship.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Harvard-Westlake was 5-0 last week, with Russell striking out 29 and winning all four of her starts. Two victories came against two-time defending Mission League champion Chaminade. She also hurled a perfect game against Pacific View League leader Camarillo and a one-hitter against highly regarded Anaheim Loara on Saturday in the Thousand Oaks tournament. In the only game she didn’t pitch, Russell delivered an extra-inning triple and scored the winning run against Alemany on Friday.
