SPORT: Swimming
SEASON AT A GLANCE: The Buena High standout, who has qualified in three events for the Olympic trials in August, entered the high school season with a goal to repeat as Southern Section Division I champion in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Prichard won the 200 and 500 freestyle events at the Division I championships, was the top individual point scorer and was chosen boys’ swimmer of the meet. His time of 4:19.34 in the 500 broke a 15-year-old meet record (4:19.47) by Dan Jorgensen of Mission Viejo. Prichard won the 200 in 1:38.87.

Mandy Kilionski
YEAR: Freshman
SCHOOL: Simi Valley
SPORT: Softball
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Kilionski was promoted to the varsity on April 6 and she’s been turning heads ever since. The 14-year-old is 8-2 with a 0.28 earned-run average. She has struck out 108 and walked only seven in 76 innings.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Simi Valley won its final two Marmonte League games to secure a Southern Section Division II playoff berth. Leading the charge was Kilionski, who posted two shutouts. She threw a perfect game with 17 strikeouts in a 3-0 victory over Royal and two days later pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 1-0 victory over Westlake.
