Village Christian Is Run Out of Playoffs by Kilpatrick, 40-12

Jeremy Hartsfield of Kilpatrick ran Village Christian High out of contention for a berth in the Southern Section playoffs Saturday night at Kennedy High by scoring five touchdowns in a 40-12 Alpha League victory.
Hartsfield rushed for 196 yards in 15 carries, including touchdowns of 60, five, seven and 65 yards for Kilpatrick (5-4, 3-0 in league play), and he caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from Steve Romero.
Romero completed three of four passes for 46 yards with no interceptions, and threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Duchateau.
Kilpatrick scored on five of its first six possessions while building a 34-6 halftime lead.
The Mustangs also scored on their first possession of the second half.
The Crusaders (3-5, 0-3) scored on a 13-yard touchdown run by Jarrod Orsatt and a 20-yard touchdown pass from Neil Gunn to Ian Martin.
Gunn completed seven of 14 passes for 97 yards, but threw two interceptions and was sacked six times for 38 yards.
Aaron Owen rushed 10 times for 75 yards and Gunn ran three times for 33 yards.
The Crusaders were out-gained, 306-228, in their fourth consecutive loss.
