Woodbridge High’s Susanna Lingman, the county’s top girls’ tennis recruit, has committed to Harvard. Lingman, ranked 11th in Southern California and 42nd nationally, picked Harvard over Georgia Tech and Northwestern.
A first-team Times’ Orange County selection the last two seasons, Lingman is the third top-50 recruit Harvard has landed this fall.
“Harvard just suited me best,” said Lingman, who went undefeated during the high school season.

Dana Hills’ Chelsy Thompson, a first-team all-county selection last year, has signed a letter of intent with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Thompson helped lead the Dolphins to the Division I final, where she won two of three sets. Thompson was the South Coast League singles runner-up this year and she reached the third round of the Southern Section individual tournament.
