Sehorn Out as Many as 4 Weeks

Jason Sehorn, the New York Giants’ talented but injury-plagued cornerback, suffered a broken rib under his right collarbone in Sunday’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys and could be sidelined for up to four weeks, the team said Monday. Emmanuel McDaniel will replace him. . . . For the third time in three seasons, Buffalo Bill quarterback Doug Flutie has re-claimed the starter’s job, taking over for Rob Johnson, who will be sidelined 2-4 weeks after separating his right shoulder in Sunday’s victory over San Diego. . . . An MRI test showed that nothing was torn in Seattle quarterback Brock Huard’s knee, which was injured in the fourth quarter of the Seahawks’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren expects Huard to play against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday. . . . Washington Redskin cornerback Darrell Green will be sidelined two to three weeks after pulling his right calf muscle in Sunday’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Green, 40, hasn’t missed a game since 1992, when he broke his right forearm and sat out eight games. . . . Fullback Jon Witman, usually the lead blocker for Jerome Bettis, will be sidelined for the season because of a broken right leg that required surgery Monday. . . . For the record: Dallas quarterback Troy Aikman’s passer rating was incorrectly reported Monday. His rating is 38.5. He was credited with statistics for two games played by backup Randall Cunningham. . . . Standout defensive lineman Bryant Young is questionable for the San Francisco 49ers’ game Sunday at Carolina after tearing cartilage where his ribs meet his sternum.
