After rushing for an average of 371.5 yards a game while averaging 9.5 yards a carry, Flintridge Prep--and standout running back Omar Dittu--was held to 98 yards in 42 carries in a 17-6 loss to Pasadena Poly on Saturday.

Dittu, who entered the game with 1,300 yards rushing, was held to 42 yards in 16 carries by a defense that surprised Flintridge Prep Coach Glen Beattie with its quickness.

“Their defensive ends really disrupted our offense,” Beattie said. “They made it hard for us to do the things we like to do.”

Flintridge Prep (4-3) hadn’t been fooling anyone with its double-wing T offense in the first six games of the season, but no one had been able to shut it down until Saturday.

“Our attitude before was we don’t care if you know what we do [on offense], just try and stop us,” Beattie said. “Well, they did.”
