Cal Lutheran Starts Another Title Defense, 2-1

Bonnie Bornhauser scored in the 55th minute to give Cal Lutheran a 2-1 victory over Redlands in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer match Wednesday at Cal Lutheran.
The Regals have won nine consecutive SCIAC titles.
Betsy Fisch scored on a pass from Leilani Green in the fifth minute to give the Regals (4-2, 1-0 in the SCIAC) a 1-0 lead.
Lauren Huckleberry assisted on Bornhauser’s goal and Meghan Jupin made nine saves for Cal Lutheran, which outshot Redlands, 24-4.
Heather Lenefsky scored for the Bulldogs in the 69th minute.
Cal Lutheran has won 22 of 23 games against Redlands (2-3, 0-1), including all 19 in SCIAC play.
MEN’S SOCCER
The Master’s 5, Hope International 2--Dan Hensley had two goals and an assist, and Rusty Brooke added a goal and two assists for the Mustangs in a nonconference match at The Master’s.
Pal Andriska also had two goals for the Mustangs (7-1).
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Concordia def. Cal Lutheran, 15-2, 9-15, 11-15, 15-9, 15-11--Sally Jahraus had 17 kills, 10 digs and five aces, and Pamela Hunnicutt added 16 kills for the Regals in a nonconference defeat at Concordia.
Jamie Arnold had nine kills and 15 digs for Cal Lutheran (0-2).
