Capistrano Valley Christian 26, Riverside Sherman Indian 12--Two touchdown runs by Jamie Bray helped Capistrano Valley Christian win in its first “complete” game of the season, at Laguna Beach High.

The Eagles (2-0), ranked No. 10 in Division XIII of the Southern Section, won their opener a week earlier when Vista Tri-City Christian asked to have the game called early in the third quarter due to a lack of healthy players. But Capistrano Valley Christian needed two fourth-quarter touchdowns to put away Braves, who are ranked seventh in the division.

Leading, 13-12, the Eagles scored the clinching touchdown after a fumble recovery by Garrett Day at the Sherman Indian 38-yard line. Four plays later, Bray scored his second touchdown of the game on a two-yard run.

Capistrano Valley Christian put the game out of reach on its next possession, driving 84 yards in two plays--a 54-yard run by Bray and a 30-yard scoring run by Day with 8:02 remaining in the game.

Bray gained 115 yards in 19 carries against a physical Sherman Indian defensive line. Day, a 5-foot-6, 135-pound scatback, ran for 77 yards in only 10 carries.
