Quartz Hill 10, Saugus 9--The Rebels stopped quarterback Andy Basey on a two-point conversion attempt with 2:16 to play to preserve their first victory of the season at Quartz Hill.

Chris Alheim completed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Tim Carter to pull Saugus (1-3) within one point. Basey replaced Alheim on the conversion attempt, but his dive into the line was a yard short of the end zone.

Mychael Williams scored on a 56-yard run and Jorge Portillo kicked the extra point to give Quartz Hill a 10-3 lead with 9:23 left in the third quarter. Williams had 130 yards in 29 carries.
