* Four-time Southern California Amateur champion Craig Steinberg of Los Angeles, current Southern California champion John Merrick of Long Beach and Joseph Davis of Ladera Ranch qualified for the U.S. Amateur at the sectional qualifier Monday at Apple Valley Country Club.

At Bernardo Heights Country Club in San Diego, David Derminio of Fallbrook finished third to earn that region’s final qualifying spot.
