Agoura Reaches Final in Baseball Regional

Chris Denove hit his fourth home run in as many games and Brandon Canning earned the pitching victory for Agoura, which defeated Bellevue, Wash., 10-7, in an American Legion baseball Northwest Regional semifinal at Sheridan, Wyo.

Agoura (32-8) will play the winner of Sunday’s late game between North Salem, Ore., and Lewiston, Idaho, in the final tonight at 6. North Salem defeated Agoura, 13-12, in pool play and Lewiston lost to Bellevue, 13-12, in pool play.

Jamie Hesselgesser and Luke Riordan also hit home runs in Agoura’s semifinal victory.

On Saturday, Chris White threw a three-hitter in the third game of pool play to help Agoura to a 5-0 victory over Helena, Mont., which finished the season 61-13.

Denove hit a home run and Jonathan Trelatsky had three hits and drove in a run for Agoura, which needed the victory to go 2-1 in pool play and qualify for the semifinals.
