Ventura St. Bonaventure 56,Cerritos Valley Christian 16--The top-ranked Seraphs (13-0) got another highlight-film performance from Lorenzo Booker and ran their winning streak to 41 games with the easy victory at Cerritos High.

St. Bonaventure showed its other weapons as well, with six players scoring at least once for the two-time defending Division XI champions. But it was Booker, the leading rusher in state history, who led the way.

The senior rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns, including a stunning 77-yard scoring run on his second carry of the game. Booker is the state career leader in both rushing (8,263 yards) and touchdowns (132).

The Seraphs scored on all seven of their first-half possessions as Booker scored three times and quarterback Jack Swisher threw touchdown passes to four different receivers. Booker and Swisher both left the game three plays into the second half.

Valley Christian (9-3) got 98 rushing yards from junior Chase Twedell. Twedell broke the school single-season rushing record in the second quarter.

He finished the season with 2,179 yards and is also the Crusaders’ career rushing leader with 3,780 yards, with a year to go.
