Georgia Tech Stings No. 13 Syracuse, 96-80

Clarence Moore scored 20 points to help Georgia Tech (4-5) upset No. 13 Syracuse, 96-80, Sunday at Atlanta.

It was the second consecutive loss for the Orangemen (9-2).

Syracuse pulled within 55-49 with 13:24 remaining on a three-point basket by DeShaun Williams.

But Georgia Tech responded with a 10-0 run that featured a three-point shot by Tony Akins and a three-point play by Marvin Lewis that made it 67-51 with 10:03 remaining.

Kueth Duany led the Orangemen with 20 points and Williams added 16. Preston Shumpert and James Thues each had 13.

Akins had 18 points and Lewis and Robert Brooks each scored 17 for the Yellow Jackets.

The Blue Devils have won 19 in a row.

Bruce Jenkins had 24 points for the Aggies (1-7).

Shawn Mason scored 19 points for Western Illinois.

No. 11 Boston College 75, Holy Cross 51--Troy Bell scored 24 points and Kenny Walls scored 23 for the Eagles (9-0) at Boston.

Brian Wilson had 13 points for Holy Cross (4-4).

No. 19 Wake Forest 93, Florida State 72--Darius Songaila scored 29 points and Jamaal Levy added 15, both career highs, to lead the Demon Deacons at Winston-Salem, N.C., in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams.

Josh Howard scored 14 points and Antwan Scott had 13 for Wake Forest (7-2).

Monte Cummings scored 16 points for Florida State (3-4). Delvon Arrington added 14 points and Nigel Dixon had 12.

No. 24 Oklahoma 102, Bethune Cookman 65--Aaron McGhee scored 20 points for the Sooners (7-1) at Norman, Okla.

McGhee converted a three-point play that started a game-ending 32-13 run.

Cage Moses and Brian Cox each had 11 points for Bethune Cookman (2-5).
