Margaritha Sets GSAC Record With 25 Rebounds

Hope International lost to Concordia, 63-57, in men’s basketball Thursday night at Concordia University despite getting a Golden State Athletic Conference record 25 rebounds from Axel Margaritha. The Eagles (9-12, 3-8) were led by Amir Law and Ellery Williams with 12 points each.
Margaritha led the Royals (10-15, 2-9) with 17 points.
In another GSAC game:
Cal Baptist 76, Vanguard 63--Vanguard shot 51% from the field in the first half, which ended in a 37-37 tie, but shot 31% in the second half and were outscored, 39-26.
In a GSAC women’s game:
Concordia 58, Hope International 42--Aina Kohler had 20 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead Concordia to a 58-42 victory over Hope International at Concordia.
Taryn Commins had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (9-13, 5-6).
In a nonconference game:
Vanguard 69, Cal Baptist 53--Vanguard shot 46% from the field and made 13 of 16 free throws in the first half, building a 39-31 lead.
